President of the India Brazil Chamber of Commerce gave a statue of Hanuman to Fiocruz

Last Saturday (23), the President of the India Brazil Chamber of Commerce and Honorary Consul General of India in Rio de Janeiro, H.E. Leonardo Ananda, on the receivement of the Oxford-Astrazeneca’s vaccine, developed by the Serum Institute in India, gave to FioCruz a statue of the Hindu God, Hanuman.


Hanuman, is a Hindu god in the form of a monkey and in Indian mythology, was able to save his brother with a medicinal herb present in the Himalayan highlands.


The Brazilian President, H.E. Jair Bolsonaro used Hanuman's image in his special thanks to India for providing vaccines at a crucial time.
